Melissa is a performance-oriented healthcare business development leader. She possesses progressive and extensive experience in both healthcare financing and healthcare delivery. With Melissa’s extensive payer experience, SCALE is expanding its business portfolio to include Payer Services and Solutions.

Her deep understanding of the payer landscape was attained during her tenured career at Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. She held leadership positions in health plan clinical services, provider performance optimization and sales. As a motivational leader she led a high performing sales team that consistently exceeded membership and profitability goals.

Prior to joining SCALE, she held two leadership roles at Allegheny Health Network (AHN). As the Director of Business Development, she was considered a synergist bringing AHN’s providers and local payers together to deliver solutions to employers for the betterment of the health of their employees. She also served as the Director of Clinical Operations for AHN’s Clinically Integrated Network (CIN).  Responsible for clinical operations supporting innovative population health strategies that elevate patient experience, increase efficiency, promote positive clinical outcomes, and optimize financial performance in value-based reimbursement programs.

Melissa received a Master’s of Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh. Her clinical nursing experience focused on cardiac surgical intensive care and transplantation.
