Dr. Rajeev Ranjan

Global Head of AI & Technology | VP, SCALE Healthcare

Most enterprise AI never survives contact with production. Mine does — because I’ve lived both sides of it: as a physician, and as the architect accountable for the P&L.

I’m a clinically trained physician who became an enterprise AI executive. That dual lens — clinical intuition plus platform engineering — shapes every strategy I set. I understand the patient, the provider, the payer, and the pharma value chain not as abstractions, but from inside the system.

At Optum (UnitedHealth Group), I scaled a data science function from a handful of analysts to 250+ data scientists, shipping 15+ production AI applications across the PBM, Rx, and pharmacy value chain — systems touching millions of members and billions in managed healthcare spend.

At SCALE Healthcare, I built the technology organization from the ground up as Global Head of AI & Technology Services, with full P&L accountability. I led our services-to-subscription transformation, turning institutional analytics expertise into a commercially successful subscription AI platform — technology leadership measured in ARR, retention, and platform monetization, not demos.

16+ years across Life Sciences, healthcare AI, and enterprise technology have taught me one thing: you build organizations, not just solutions. I’m equally at home presenting to boards and investors as I am in an architecture review with engineers — and I think that range is exactly what this AI moment demands.
